LingoHub CLI

Install the lingohub command, sign in through the browser and use API V2 from your terminal, scripts and AI agents.

lingohub is the command-line client for API V2 (Beta). It signs you in through the browser, works with your workspace, stacks and projects, runs imports and exports, and serves the API to AI agents over MCP. It's open source: lingohub/lingohub-cli.

The CLI is updated together with API V2. While V2 is in beta, keep the CLI up to date to stay compatible.

Install

macOS and Linux with Homebrew:

brew install lingohub/cli/lingohub

macOS and Linux without Homebrew:

curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -LsSf https://github.com/lingohub/lingohub-cli/releases/latest/download/lingohub-installer.sh | sh

Windows (PowerShell):

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -c "irm https://github.com/lingohub/lingohub-cli/releases/latest/download/lingohub-installer.ps1 | iex"

Archives for macOS (Apple silicon and Intel), Linux (x86_64 and ARM64) and Windows (x86_64), with checksums, are on the releases page.

lingohub login

lingohub login opens a confirmation page in LingoHub and prints its link with a verification code. Check that the page shows the same code, pick the workspace and confirm. The CLI then stores a new self-managed API key in ~/.lingohub, readable only by you. The key acts with your own permissions, is named after your computer and is valid for 90 days; run lingohub login again for a new one.

Your workspace must allow self-managed API keys. An admin turns them on with Allow self-managed API keys in the workspace's security settings.

lingohub logout revokes the stored key and removes it from ~/.lingohub.

In CI, or with a key created in LingoHub, set LINGOHUB_API_KEY instead. It takes precedence over the stored key. See API keys.

First commands

lingohub workspace
lingohub project list
lingohub api operations
lingohub api call getApiKey
  • Add --json to get the API's JSON on stdout, for scripts.
  • lingohub api call OPERATION calls any JSON operation of the API V2 reference by its operation ID.
  • lingohub COMMAND --help lists the options of each command.
  • lingohub tui opens an interactive dashboard.

AI agents

lingohub api mcp-serve serves API V2 to MCP clients over stdio. It uses the same key as the CLI. By default it offers a small set of read-only tools; select operations or tags, or use --all, to offer more, including changes.

Upgrade

brew upgrade lingohub # installed with Homebrew
lingohub upgrade # installed with an installer

Interactive commands mention a newer release at most once a day.

More examples are in the README and the workflow cookbook.
