Update a workspace member

Merge-patches the workspace role of a non-owner member. Omission preserves the role; null is invalid. Explicit stack and language assignments remain stored, while shared assignment reconciliation repairs responsibilities that the new permissions no longer allow. Empty and equal role patches do not write. Current or requested workspace owners are protected; user-owned keys cannot change their own non-owner member's role. Optional If-Match uses the member GET validator. Requires workspace-level members management permission.

Path Params
string
required
^wsu_[0-9a-fA-F]{8}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{12}$

Public id composed of the resource type prefix and its UUID.

Body Params

Request body to update a non-owner workspace member's role while preserving explicit stack assignments.

string
^rol_[0-9a-fA-F]{8}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{12}$

Existing non-owner workspace role. Omission preserves the current role; null is not allowed.

Headers
string

Optional precondition. Send the quoted ETag from a GET of this resource. The mutation only runs if a strong tag matches the current representation, checked under the write lock. A comma-separated list is allowed; '*' requires an existing representation. Weak tags never match. Omit this header for an unconditional write. For an action, use the ETag from GET of the target resource, without the action suffix. A stale tag returns 412; read the current state before retrying.
